Khaolak Palm Beach Resort

The beach was the prettiest , quietest with soft sand and gentle waves of the many we have ever visited . The restaurant at the hotel was good. And there were a few down the way on the beach for variety. The morning breakfast was very nice and made most welcoming by their top guy Wit. He made sure everyone was so warmly welcomed and accommodated.

I have recently had to use a cane to assist my mobility. Access points were often rough or strangely narrow. The buildings and accommodation were lovely. All the help very friendly. It bothered me as an avid gardener that they did not water or take care of the landscaping as they should. There had not been rain since early December. There was a huge very interesting and much admired monitor lizard whose pond was almost dry by the end of our stay. The locals said it copes by changing its diet but it seemed unnecessary to kill all the fish in his pond. We stayed after this stay at a much cheaper place where they were able to still able to maintain their lush foliage.

The room is spacious but it is an older style. What was really surprising and worth it was having a private beach, so beautiful, calm, without many people. The outside environment was very welcoming, from the pool you could see the sea. The restaurant is in front of the sea and the view is amazing.

The menu and food are simple. Breakfast was good but without much variety. But eating in that environment makes everything tastier.

Great location, beautiful nature, cozy and compact territory. The next time I would like to stay here for a longer period. Nearby beautiful forests. Thank you for hospitality!

Needs a revamp very dated and falling apartDark room Sunbeds on top of each other as no room / sunbed cushions are disgustingly and falling apart.People reserving with towels and big turning up until the afternoon.Lazy miserable staff( been to Thailand many many times and never known anything like it!)Place is dirty!Our room with a spa bath was right next to the pool - no privacy and noisy! We left early and lost money - it was that bad! Breakfast was ok but good left uncovered .

Lovely, quiet and relaxed property with nice grounds and pool areas right in the beach. The bungalows were well appointed and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Located within a 5 minute taxi ride to the centre of Khaolak where there were plenty of restaurants, bars and shops.

We liked that the resort was small. It did not have huge buildings all over. It had beautiful greenery all over. We stayed at a villa near the pool and beach. Beautiful property with an excellent beach. We stayed 6 nights and could stay longer. Even though people reserved their lounge chairs in the mornings, there was always plenty of lounge chairs to go around. Loved it. We will be back.

The beach is amazing - perfect location. You can just walk out of the resort to one of the best beaches in Thailand (No jet-ski, no sunbeds) The room was great. Comfy bed. Cold air-con.

The overall cleanliness of the resort was lacking. The breakfast is TERRIBLE. The WiFi is very bad and the overall feelings are of a resort that could be refreshed.Also not enough (and poor quality) sun loungers. If you’re not down to breakfast before 8am you won’t get even a semi decent spot.I took some photos about 11am around the resort. The bins were overflowing, breakfast hadn’t been cleared and lots of cigarette butts and trash under the tables.

Nice place, nice location (right on the beach) - I stayed in a nice room but the bungalows look super nice too for a more family type vacation.

Liked everything, Lots of stairs - but that is also part of the charm.

On the bright side, the location right on the beach, the beautiful garden, the pools, and the incredibly attentive staff are all fantastic.

.1. The bungalows are not technically sound and poorly maintained. I didn’t dare to use the jacuzzi in our villa because I was afraid the installation wouldn’t work properly.2.We stayed in two bungalows, and in the second one, when I emptied the bathtub, the entire bathroom flooded.3.Throughout the resort, there are various construction materials in plain sight. For example, across from the unused restaurant near us, there was an empty jacuzzi. Near the pool restrooms, there was a cement mixer, etc.4.The phone in the bungalow didn’t work to call reception, not ideal when you have a question and the reception is a five minute uphill walk.5.The minibar is just a fridge! A missed opportunity for revenue, and since the resort is so remote, it’s extremely inconvenient to have to do your own grocery shopping all the time.6.No room service! Another missed revenue opportunity and a shame, considering the bungalows have lovely private verandas perfect for relaxing.7.Breakfast is incredibly frustrating with so many people! Guests aren’t exactly light on their fat feet and stomp across the wooden floor so hard that your coffee spills out of your cup. You often have to stand in line to get food or coffee!8.Yesterday, there were event ants crawling over the food at breakfast!9.The other guests are absolutely unbearable, and I don’t understand why the hotel management tolerates this! Most of them are older (retired) guests who act like they own the place. In the evening, they sneakily tuck their towels and swimwear between the cushions of the pool chairs to reserve them, only to show up at the pool for a couple of hours at most. This completely ruins the experience for other guests!!! It’s about time the hotel staff did something about this, it’s beyond childish.10. Very little privacy! Since those older guests have nothing better to do, they spend the whole day watching younger people.

Small resort w/lovely villas, peaceful environment, 2 pools on property, restaurant with delicious meals, ocean a few feet away way!

Location right on quiet beach was amazing. And great loungers Breakfast was good.

Rooms spacious, pool area was great. Beach was beautiful. Yai in reception was particularly nice and we chatted to her most nights as she’s very friendly

I thought the pool was a bit small but it doesn’t really matter when you have that beautiful beach, the reception and general staff were amazing but the restaurant and pool area staff were just so they just sit in the restaurant and don’t check to see if anybody wants another drink you have to go to them , And when using the restaurant there was no atmosphere at all so I eat out after the first night I felt like i was an inconvenience to them same at breakfast.

Very steep and many steps, quite difficult as I have an injured knee

No buggy or shuttle and it’s on a steep hill. The bathroom needs completed revamp Old shower curtailCracked tiles . Towels old and discoloured . Huge bath with shower inside not suitable for older travellers . Mostly older people there during our stay . Outside buildings needs good cleaning . Not good on the eye . Windows very dirty around kitchen building . Restaurant walls and woodwork needs a good cleaning Flies around the salad bar . Breakfast not great . Poor quality Definitely not 4 star

Beautiful location in the corner of a gorgeous beach. Stunning views and a very good place to swim.The room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. There is a lovely large swimming pool. Lots of comfortable loungers available. An excellent breakfast buffet. This resort was perfect in every way.

Room was spacious and clean Only meant to stay 2 nights but I ended up extending to 4 nights Just in front of the beach
